And, I am in the market for a new firearm, so Bruce invited me to join him at Whittaker's in West Louisville. As Bruce says, " I gotta tell you, they got a lot of guns".

When she was Kathie Lee Johnson, Moon so had a crush on Kathie Lee. Later when she co-hosted LIVE with Regis ourt of New York, I worked there then and watched her regularly. I still like her, although I know she grates on many a nerve -- but so do I --, therefore I feel so sorry for this gaffe. Chad and I talked about it this morning.

Earlier this week I bought a new Weber One-Touch gold grill, the cover and the chimney. I can see myself grilling all weekend long. Well, I shall live a LONG time because of the coffee I drink.
According to a new study by the National Cancer Institute, coffee may actually prolong life.

I drink a full pot -- 10- cups -- every morning starting at 3:45 whenI arrive at the station and concluding at 9:00. I take a break and return at 10 a.m. when I continue sipping coffee all day.

In 1970, my first "real" horse race was at Keeneland. As I looked over the form trying to decide what horse to place a bet on, I saw the name Dust Commander. Being from west Texas I knew a lot about sand; it blew there all time. Wouldn't you know, that hunch paid off. I won $70 on a $2 bet! A week later, at the 1970 Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, Dust Commander did it again. Now, I didn't win that much that first Saturday in May. Due to his victory at Keeneland there was too much money placed on him to pay large.

It is hard to believe it's time for Owensboro's famous International Barbecue Festival. A week from Friday it opens and all the great barbecue aromas and thick, blinding smoke will waft through downtown. WBKR will be broadcasting from the event on both days. My favorite year was 2009. I was joined on the air by Kizzy and on the streets by lovely Mrs. Moon.

When I was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2009 Merle Haggard was the guest performer. The folks that put the show together asked Merle several months beforehand to do the show. At first he wasn't well enough after having battled cancer. Then, he didn;t want to see a bunch of radio people, "Who don't play my music". Well, Merle, "These are the guys that DID play your music". After he was told that he agreed to come.

I'm glad because I'd been playing Merle's music since 1964. And, now he's on Twitter!

Hawaii, our 50th state and probably most gorgeous. Moon here. I have been to Hawaii three times. It's a great place to honeymoon, work and just veg out. I've done all three. The most fun was our honeymoon (Debra and mine). We stayed on Oahu the first night. Maui the rest of the week. That's me at the Hyatt Regency with my little Asian friend.
