Decoding Holiday World’s Mystery Attraction Coming in 2027
Extra! Extra! Read all about it! As Holiday World's 80th season kicks off with a bang, there is SO MUCH to look forward to! New delicious food, the World's Largest Rubber Duck, the dinos return this fall, AND we just got more clues to the new attraction set for 2027. In the form of a fake newspaper.
Is the New Holiday World Attraction a Surf Coaster?
Last year, Holiday World started to tease a new attraction. We heard a rumor that there is an Easter egg in the "Pour Some Gravy on Me" parody music video by the park band Happy New Month. Chad seems to think he has pinpointed the clue, but I don't know if he is correct. If you want to see his theory, click here. Here's the video for yourself.
What Do the Flip Flops Mean at Holiday World?
It's SO clever! Did you see anything that could be a hint? Some folks think there will be a Surfin' U.S.A. theme since there was a Beach Boys poster and one of the band members acted like he was surfing in the tub. I think the Easter Egg is right here.
The Popular Mechanics magazine. Special vacation edition.
Then, red, white, and blue flip-flops appeared painted along the fence that hides any progress from visitors. I think it is safe to say that this is a clue that the new attraction will be themed for the 4th of July section of the park.

New Clues For New Holiday World Attraction Coming in 2027
Recently, we received mail, "Hot off the press!" A special edition newspaper from the Boulder Canyon Gazette. Boulder Canyon was the name of the town you rode through on your Raging Rapids raft. They've announced a new website with the goal "to make it easier for people to get the information they need."
I imagine this is where we can all check for updates until we finally experience the grand reveal! I bet some smart sleuths will guess what's up by then for sure! The information in the printed paper is interesting too. Here are some pictures so you can zoom in and read them for yourself.
This first page obviously tells you to go to www.TownofBoulderCanyon.com. It is SO CUTE. An old school-designed website complete with Comic Sans font. Some of the pages are hilarious, and you can sign up for text updates. I'm definitely left with LOTS of questions. I've made a list of some things in the physical paper that stand out:
1. The Local Weather shows a 50/50 split for the week's precipitation. With a flood watch on Tuesday. Where the heck is Thursday?
2. The boil advisory lists a "temporary disruption in the municipal water system" as the cause for the warning. What was the disruption? Routine maintenance? Hmmmm, are we buying that? I've got my tin foil hat on now!
3. The Classified Ads have a charcoal grill listed for sale. If interested, we're supposed to call Jason Walter after 5 PM. Who is Jason Walter, and what is his phone number? Because I will totally call and buy the grill *IF* he submits to a line of questioning. You better believe I have googled his name! So far, he is either a life coach from Hawaii or he is from the Cincinnati area and getting married this fall.
4. The Boulder Canyon "America's Hidden Gem" ad mentions clean air, affordable water (you just have to boil it first lol), fresh strawberries, and free soft drinks. The drawing looks like a very quaint bridge with some trees. Maybe a community park? It's giving small-town Gilmore Girls. Why fresh strawberries?
5. The community calendar lists certain dates with events and locations like the watermelon eating competition at the community center, public library, school, and a community pool.
6. On the back of the paper are some coupons to places in the 4th of July section (thank you very much!) I don't think there are clues here other than more verification that this is going to be some Americana goodness.
7. I love the local vendors listed for the Boulder Canyon Farmer's Market. The mention of strawberries earlier makes the "Star-Spangled Strawberry Patch" stand out.
8. The Letter to the Editor is about a neighborhood swan and its baby wandering around Main Street instead of staying in the town pond. Can you really submit your own letter to the BoulderCanyonGazette@hotmail.com address listed?

Is The New Holiday World Attraction a Water Ride?
When Holiday World retired Raging Rapids, they said that they intended to return the sound of laughter to Boulder Canyon as soon as possible.
Are they leading us to think that they are building another, more modern version of Boulder Canyon? In this Gazette, they have laid out specific locations and classic 4th of July activities like grilling and watermelon-eating contests. They've also made many mentions of water, so I think there has to be some kind of water element to this new attraction.
I am going to stay off the Reddit threads and coaster enthusiast pages to try to guess what it is myself. If you have any ideas, feel free to share them either on the Facebook page or through the App Chat feature! Whatever it is, it's gonna be great!
