It's time, once again, for the Angels for Ashley St. Jude Cookout as part of the Window World St. Jude Radiothon. And, once again, it's time for mouthwatering Boston butts, ribs, and chickens.

The Angels for Ashley St. Jude Cookout

Make sure you stop by Shoe Stop in Wesleyan Park Plaza on Thursday or Friday or BOTH and pick up a delicious Boston butt, rack of ribs, or chicken. If you can't make it to Shoe Stop, the team will be selling at the Whitesville Mercantile, the Knottsville Water Department, and the Pellville Fire Department. Norman MacDonald's in Philpot will be a selling location on Thursday only. To make your purchase as easy as possible, we have a few pro tips to get you ready.

And you don't even have to get out of your car. We will happily bring your future entrée or party centerpiece to you. Also, please bring cash to make your purchase, as we do not have a way to take a card payment. There are plenty of ATMs near the Shoe Stop cookout site, so that won't be a problem if that's the place you make your purchase. Additionally, this Sunday is the Big Game, and your party will not be complete without a Boston butt, rack of ribs, a chicken...or all three.

Friends of Jerry

I'm not sure when this started, but Jerry Morris's charitable "side hustle" has been very lucrative for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital over the years. Give Jerry Morris $100, and you'll become a friend of Jerry. And he'll ask you for it, so you don't need to remember. I have actually seen folks walk up to Jerry and give him multiple C-notes. You gotta love Friends of Jerry. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital certainly does.

Don't Wait Until the Last Minute

Last year, Jerry and his team prepared hundreds and hundreds of Boston butts, racks of ribs, and chickens, and sold them all. But no matter how many butts, ribs, and chickens you think the team has or has left, do not wait until the last minute to make your purchase. I can tell you from experience, the ribs and chickens disappear first. Keep that in mind.

We hope to see you at Shoe Stop in Owensboro's Wesleyan Park Plazaon  Thursday or Friday.

To become a St. Jude Partner-in-Hope, it's $19 per month on a credit or debit card. The number to call is 1-800-201-8883. And when you become a St. Jude Partner-in-Hope, you'll receive a new  St. Jude t-shirt.
