Behind the Scenes as the Angels for Ashley Cooking Team Prepare for the St. Jude Cookout

The Window World St. Jude Radiothon has become a tri-state tradition. The 2026 campaign marks 24 years of raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, thanks to your donations and your stomachs.

The Angels for Ashley Cookout has become an unbeatable tradition with the tradition. Jerry Morris and his cooking team joined our team more than a decade ago, and it's no exaggeration to say that we couldn't have reached the heights we've reached without them.

The team starts cooking before the radiothon begins, and they do it at the Morris family's Whitesville Mercantile. But Jerry and company raise money all year long for St. Jude, and this year, they made a raffle for a refurbished antique John Deere tractor part of their contribution.

Jerry Morris and the Angels for Ashley Cooking Team will prepare Boston butts, ribs, and chickens in Whitesville and then drive them into town, where they will be sold at Shoe Stop during the radiothon. And this year, the cookout falls on the same weekend as the Big Game. When it comes to providing food for your Big Game party, it doesn't get any better than what the Angels for Ashley Cooking Team will be selling this Thursday and Friday for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

You'll be able to purchase the butts, ribs, and chickens at Shoe Stop in Owensboro, but also at the Whitesville Mercantile, the Knottsville Water Department, Norman MacDonald's in Philpot, and the Pellville Fire Department.

Norman MacDonald's in Philpot will be a pickup location on Thursday only. The Pellville Fire Department, the Knottsville Water Department, and Shoe Stop are pickup locations only, as well. The Whitesville Mercantile is the only location where they will be cooking.

Pork sandwiches will be available at the Pellville Fire Department.
