Owensboro Resident Warns Pet Owners of Hawk Threat

Angel Here! Scrolling through Facebook this morning I noticed my friend Katie Kahn posted about her puppy nearly getting attacked by a hawk in their own front yard. As a pet owner, this concerned me!

I saw another person post they saw a cat taken by an owl in another neighborhood.  Please watch your smaller animals when you let them out.  If they stay outside for a long period of time make sure you provide some type of shelter!

According to Hawksloft.org;  Red-Tailed Hawks and Grey Horned Owls have been known to be able to carry and kill animals from 6 to 60 pounds.  However, Hawks and larger birds cannot carry anything larger in weight than themselves.
