Miss Daviess County Raises Funds For St. Jude Kids

Shaylee Leonard, who is the reigning Miss Daviess County, is once again raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Shaylee has been a part of the annual WBKR Window World St. Jude Radiothon for years now. She once joined us for Sweatin' for St. Jude and spent time raising money and awareness while running a 5K on a treadmill. She has rolled up her sleeves to help Jerry Morris and the Angels for Ashley Cooking Team at their annual St. Jude Cookout at Shoe Stop.

Then, back in 2023, Shaylee decided to launch her own fundraising campaign for the charity that has continued each year since.

For our 2026 event, which is coming up the first week of February, Shaylee is selling St. Jude bracelets and some brand new t-shirts designed specifically for the upcoming radiothon.

The bracelets come in all three color varieties above and cost $3 a piece. Each style features a different St. Jude saying.

Plus, Shaylee will be selling her shirts and bracelets at this year's Angels for Ashley St. Jude Cookout, which takes place from 9am to 6pm (roughly), Thursday, February 5th and Friday, February 6th at Shoe Stop inside Owensboro's Wesleyan Park Plaza.

Shaylee, who is also the reigning Miss Edmonson County Fair and Miss Heart of the Commonwealth Teen, will then join us live in studio during the 5pm hour of the WBKR Window World St. Jude Radiothon on the evening of February 6th to share her grand fundraising total.
